Alton Brown to Continue as Welch's Spokesperson

Well, Alton Brown is continuing on as Welch's grape juice spokesman.  The new ad campaign focuses on the fact that their grape juice is natural and will feature actual vineyard locations from some of their associated growers.  Welch's originally picked up AB to talk about the science behind grapes, which played directly off his Good Eats background.   I'd say that, with his passion for getting back to food basics, sustainability, and local growers, Alton is the perfect choice to front the new series of ads too.
There are several clips of Alton interviewing grape farmers at Welch's website.  Enjoy!

p.s.  In case you're wondering, it's the 'new and improved' skinny Alton sporting his short hair in these ads; not the long-haired dude of old.  Here's a picture so you can see what losing 50 pounds and getting a ahircut can do.  I'm teasing here, don't take me too seriously.

Alton Brown Teams Up With Welch's Grape Juice

New Welch's commercial starring Alton Brown!  In typical Alton Brown/Good Eats fashion; he's out amongst the vines talking about polyphenol antioxidants with the customary chalkboard in the background.  I was half-expecting to see Deb Duchon pop up somewhere to give us some history on making grape juice.  "How do you like your grapes, Deb?"  "Well Alton, I like a nice cold glass of Welch's grape juice."

After a quick search I found that the press release was today; guess they were keeping this a secret.  The Welch's website also has been updated with a shortened version of the commercial.  If you click on the link at the bottom of the teaser  commercial there are interactive features and eight more Alton videos!

According to the press release, "Alton Brown will be appearing in television, print and online advertising, as well as in-store merchandising for Welch's 100% Grape Juice. In his own unique style, he'll blend ingredients of wit, wisdom, and science to explain what makes Welch's 100% Grape Juice, made from the entire polyphenol-packed Concord grape, so special."  Ironically, it mentions the ad will run during Rachel Ray's 30 minute Meals but no mention of Good Eats.  The ads will also appear in magazines and store displays through next spring.
